This brand is characterized by its mottled, almost patterned, uneven texture.
From spinning to the finished product, both the yarn and fabric are original.
It also has the advantage of making sweat stains, a common weakness of gray, less noticeable.
In addition, it is a high-quality product that retains its fluffy texture even after repeated washes.

1. Yarn structure
What is mottled gray?

Mottled gray is not a single color gray yarn, but a yarn spun by mixing different colored fibers:
- White or unbleached cotton (fibers)
- Black or dark colored cotton (fibers)
In other words, fibers such as white, unbleached, and black are twisted and mixed to create a single yarn.

Mottled yarn is not a single-color yarn; it is a yarn in which the aforementioned colors are already mixed within a single strand.
Therefore, when it becomes fabric, the surface has various colors randomly mixed, creating a complex, uneven, patterned fabric.


How does this affect sweat stains?
Sweat stains are noticeable when the wet area:
- Becomes darker or more concentrated than the surrounding area
- Has a clear boundary between the wet and dry parts
This makes the stains prominent.

Riding High's mottled fabric inherently has variations in lightness and darkness on its surface.
This means that the color change when wet is obscured by the existing structure:

- Dry surface = already mottled.
- Wet surface = the existing mottling appears only slightly darker.

From the above, the outline of "this much is sweat" becomes difficult to see.


2. Structure of Azuma knitting
What is an Azuma knitting machine?
An Azuma knitting machine knits fabric slowly at a low speed.
It is a loom that operates in the opposite direction of modern high-speed sinker knitting machines, which aim for high speed, high tension, and high uniformity.

- Low speed
- Low tension
- Less stress on the yarn
- A fabric with slightly loose stitches and natural undulations.

What happens to knitted fabric made in this way?

- Slightly uneven stitches
- Loops are not too tight
- Yarn retains its fullness
- Surface is slightly undulating
- Roundness of the yarn itself
- Fullness of the cotton
- Micro air layers
are easily retained.

As a result, moisture tends to disperse gently over the surface rather than sitting as distinct spots.
