18th Anniversary Special Order

Thanks to everyone, we were able to celebrate our 18th anniversary on March 14th this year.

Thank you all, as always.

I didn't quite make it in time for that milestone, but I'd always wanted to create custom-made pants, and I finally achieved that goal.

These are the moleskin easy slacks I commissioned from "VALAADO," a brand specializing in slacks and trousers.

Originally, this fabric was used for cargo pants in their inline collection, but when I first saw it, I noticed that while regular moleskin is usually rugged with a matte color and texture, this fabric had a wet, almost satin-like sheen. I thought this could make for some incredibly stylish slacks unlike anything I'd seen before, so I requested their production.

The main event, of course, is black.

We received an overwhelming number of orders for black during the pre-order phase, and this "wet" black isn't typically found in natural fabrics, making it precious. It's not just easy to match; I believe it offers a very high level of satisfaction.

Actually, this fabric undergoes a special singeing process, which gives it this exceptional sheen. As a result, the extra effort involved places it in the category of high-end fabrics.

 

 

The same, of course, applies to olive.

This time, I absolutely couldn't leave out olive.

My reasoning was, aren't there military chinos in khaki green or olive, but not many dressy slacks? Moreover, it's rare to find such a high level of sheen. Even replica brands that offer unwashed chinos don't achieve this level, and while it might last if you don't wash them, that's not always practical. So, this combination of "olive," "sheen," and "slacks"—and specifically slacks, not chinos—creates a wonderful mood and a sophisticated allure, making for a very satisfying finished product.

 

 

 

 

 

This time, I really wanted to make olive, and honestly, I wasn't at all confident about sales. However, I was very confident in the quality of the finished product, so I went ahead with the production.

 

Also, when I met the designer and pattern maker of Valaado in Tokyo the other day, he said, "This was a combination we wouldn't normally adopt at Valaado, so I think these turned out to be really interesting pants, and the finish was excellent."

I was very happy to hear that.
